Putin announced a truce on the eve of Easter

Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a decree to introduce a temporary ceasefire on the front line in connection with the Easter holiday. The Kremlin press service issued an official statement.
It is reported that the ceasefire will come into force on April 11 at 16:00 and will remain in effect until the evening of April 12. During this period, Russian troops were given clear instructions to cease hostilities in all directions.
Also, instructions were sent to the heads of the Russian defense system - Andrey Belousov and Valery Gerasimov - to fully implement this decision.
According to the Kremlin statement, the Russian side hopes that Ukraine will join this initiative and sign a temporary ceasefire. However, at the same time, the military has been instructed to be ready for a rapid response to possible provocations or violations of the agreement.
According to experts, such short-term truces are often of humanitarian significance and serve to partially stabilize the situation at the front. At the same time, such initiatives can also create a certain opportunity for negotiations between the parties.
