The unexpected and sensational crime that occurred in Naples yesterday, April 16, has caused a major resonance throughout Italy. It was reported that an armed group stormed the bank branch, took employees and customers hostage, and then vanished without a trace via underground passages.
According to preliminary data, the perpetrators took control of the situation as soon as they entered the bank and held a total of 25 hostages. The police, who arrived promptly at the scene, surrounded the building, and the area was completely closed for security reasons.

During the incident, emergency services smashed the bank windows and evacuated the citizens trapped inside. Thousands of people watched the event live.
Currently, the police are conducting large-scale search operations along the sewerage and underground networks. It has not yet been established how much money or valuables the perpetrators stole.
