U.S. President Donald Trump has made sharp statements regarding the Ukraine conflict following a conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Trump emphasized that he assesses the situation in Ukraine as "already lost militarily." According to him, finding a diplomatic solution quickly is more important than continuing the conflict.
“I think Putin wants to reach a compromise on this issue. This is a positive signal. I offered him a truce, and he seems ready for it,” Trump stated.
He also claimed that the Russian side had been close to an agreement previously, but certain forces halted the process. Although Trump did not specify whom he was referring to, he mentioned that "some parties" had obstructed peace negotiations.
