Thousands of children are being separated from their parents in the USA

Thousands of families are being separated in the US as part of strict anti-immigrant measures. According to The Guardian, at least 27,000 children had their parents arrested during the first seven months of 2025 under the Donald Trump administration.
Analyses show that the US Department of Homeland Security has deported an average of 1,400 parents per month. This figure has nearly doubled compared to the previous year.
It is reported that those detained include parents of children who are US citizens. In some cases, keeping families together has become even more complicated because parents and children hold different citizenships.
Human rights activists describe this situation as a new "family separation crisis." They believe the current situation has reached a wider scale than previous strict migration policies.
Officials, however, insist that families are not being intentionally separated, stating that parents are being offered the opportunity to be deported together with their children.
