What changes are taking place in car prices in Uzbekistan?

The downward trend in prices for domestic cars and electric cars in the secondary car market continued in January 2025.

Specialists of the Institute of Macroeconomic and Territorial Research (IMTR) under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan analyzed the prices of cars in the secondary market in January 2025.

Changes in the prices of domestic mass-produced cars:

In January of this year, the prices of domestic mass-produced cars decreased compared to December 2024. In particular:

- "Onix": low-use - by 2.4% ($14,350 to $14,000), high-use - by 1.5% ($13,000 to $12,800);

- "Lacetti": low-use - by 0.7% ($15,000 to $14,900), medium-use - by 1.4% ($14,500 to $14,300), high-use - by 1.7% ($13,327 to $13,095);

- "Cobalt": low-use - 1.4% ($12,901 to $12,725), medium-use - 2.4% ($12,300 to $12,000), high-use - 1.7% ($11,700 to $11,500);

- "Nexia": low-use - 1.8% ($11,400 to $11,200); high-use - ($10,500 to $10,465);

- "Spark": low-use - 1% ($10,300 to $10,200), high-use - 1.1% ($9,300 to $9,200);

- "Damas": low-use - decreased by 0.5% ($8,135 to $8,098), medium-use - decreased by 1.4% ($8,000 to $7,886), heavy-use - decreased by 4.1% ($7,300 to $7,000).

Changes in local luxury car prices:

While there was an increase in the average prices of low-use "Equinox" and "Malibu" cars, prices for medium-use and heavy-use continued to decrease. In particular:

- "Malibu": moderately used - decreased by 2.1% (from $29,100 to $28,500), heavily used - by 1.6% (from $25,000 to $24,600), while the average price for lightly used increased by 1.2% (from $29,650 to $30,000);

- "Equinox": moderately used - decreased by 1.6% (from $30,500 to $30,000), while the average price for heavily used remained unchanged ($26,500), while the average price for lightly used increased by 0.9% (from $34,000 to $34,308);

- "Tracker": rarely used - decreased by 1.6% ($18,700 to $18,403), moderately used - by 2.3% ($17,700 to $17,300), frequently used - by 2.9% ($17,000 to $16,500).

Changes in the price of electric cars:

During this period, the prices of the most used electric cars BYD "E2": ($15,250) and "Yuan Up" ($20,000) remained unchanged, while the average prices of other electric cars decreased:

- BYD "E2": new - by 1.8% ($17,100 to $16,800), moderately used - by 2.9% ($15,970 to $15,500);

- BYD "Han": new - 0.9% ($32,500 to $32,200), used - 2.9% ($31,750 to $31,250);

- BYD "Song Plus DM-i Champion": new - 0.3% ($29,100 to $29,000), used - 1.1% ($27,200 to $26,900), used - 2.8% ($24,999 to $24,300);

- BYD "Song Plus EV Champion": new - 1.4% ($28,500 to $28,090), moderately used - 3.6% ($26,600 to $25,650), heavily used - 2.9% ($24,050 to $23,350).

Changes in the price of foreign cars:

- "Elantra": moderately used - 2.3% ($21,500 to $21,000); heavily used - 4.8% ($21,000 to $19,995);

- "Tucson": low-use - 1.5% (from $33,500 to $33,000), medium-use - 0.8% (from $31,750 to $31,500); high-use - 2.0% (from $25,500 to $25,000);

- "Sportage": low-use - 1.4% (from $29,000 to $28,600), medium-use - 1.8% (from $27,500 to $27,000);
