Budget Honda City drives over 1000 km without refueling
Honda has updated its budget City sedan, making it capable of traveling over 1000 kilometers on a single tank of fuel, reported daily-motor.ru.

The upgraded hybrid version features the e:HEV powertrain, combining a 1.5-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine with two electric motors. The car runs on electric power at low speeds and engages the petrol engine during acceleration or uphill climbs.

Average fuel consumption is just 3.7 liters per 100 km, with a certified driving range of 1072.7 km.

A similar system was previously used in the Honda Fit in China, earning it a spot among the top 113 most fuel-efficient cars listed by the country's Energy Ministry.

Currently, the hybrid City is available only in Malaysia, but it is expected to enter other Southeast Asian markets soon.
