"Beautiful" car plate sold for 422 million UZS in Uzbekistan

A prestigious "beautiful" car license plate was sold at auction in Uzbekistan for an impressive 422.3 million UZS, reports Upl.uz. The starting price for this lot was set at 1.9 million UZS, significantly lower than the final amount.

According to the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange, on May 2, a total of 752 state registration plates were sold during the auction. The majority of the plates—707 units—were purchased by individuals, while legal entities acquired 45 plates. To complete the transaction, auction winners must make payment and register the purchased plate with the Traffic Safety Service.

Previously, it was reported that the popularity of "beautiful" license plate auctions has increased significantly. In 2024, the volume of such sales on the exchange doubled, reaching 195,000 combinations. The most expensive license plate was sold for a record 965.3 million UZS. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
