An important innovation is taking place in the system of testing motor vehicles in Uzbekistan. According to the Agency for Technical Regulation, from September 2, 2025, the practice of inspecting cars at the Pskent Testing Complex will be officially suspended.

As a reminder, when this procedure came into force on November 1, 2024, only 3 official dealerships were operating in the country, and they also received a type approval document for a total of 15 car models. Analysis also showed that light vehicles that do not meet the requirements of technical regulations are being imported into Uzbekistan.

Therefore, test work was carried out at the Pskent test site based on technical standards approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. Through this, the safety and compliance of imported cars with the standards were checked.

However, the current situation has completely changed. To date, official dealers of 21 major foreign car companies have started operating in Uzbekistan. Through them, type approval documents have been issued for more than 100 models of cars.

According to the agency, this process served the interests of consumers: the possibility of purchasing high-quality vehicles with guaranteed safety through official dealerships was created. At the same time, the number of official service centers has sharply increased.

In this regard, taking into account the fact that the system of purchasing cars through official dealerships has been fully established and transparency in the market is ensured, the testing process at the Pskent test site will be suspended from September 2, 2025.
