Artificial intelligence taxi service will be launched in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan plans to launch driverless taxis on a commercial basis by 2027. This was announced at the Digital Bridge forum as part of a project presented by the local IT company Jet Sharing.

The system operates on the basis of artificial intelligence and automatically controls not only the movement of cars, but also the processes of order distribution and pricing. The city of Alatau City was chosen for the initial tests, and in subsequent stages the project will also be implemented in the cities of Astana and Almaty.

According to Meyrambek Abelkasov, founder of Jet Sharing, the company aims to start the pilot phase in 2026 and fully launch in 2027. The most important technical task for the project is the creation of a high-resolution 3D navigation map of the city.

During the forum, a number of innovative artificial intelligence projects were also presented:

Protector AI is a system that protects children from violence in schools and kindergartens, currently operating in more than 60 institutions in Kazakhstan.

Defect AI is an AI-audit system aimed at reducing medical errors and improving the quality of services, which has already been implemented in eight clinics.

PocketDot is an innovative device created for blind people, which allows users to send messages in Braille, make online payments, and use social networks.

Thus, in Kazakhstan, services based on artificial intelligence and automated technologies are being gradually implemented to make life more convenient and efficient for the population.
