The Ministry of Health has released a list of cases where it is permitted not to wear seat belts in a car for public discussion.
According to the project, drivers and passengers are allowed not to wear seat belts in 17 types of diseases and medical conditions. These include fractures of the ribs, shoulder or clavicle, severe stages of chronic heart and lung diseases, bronchial asthma (stage IV), obesity with BMI over 40, short stature (below 150 cm), skin diseases in the chest area, and recent surgeries.
Pregnancy is also included in the list of causes. In this case, citizens will be issued an electronic medical certificate with a QR code. Its validity period is set at 6 months.
Officials emphasize that the purpose of this initiative is to create favorable conditions for citizens whose health is at risk and to take into account medical needs.
The document is currently under discussion and has not yet entered into force. Therefore, not wearing a seatbelt has no legal basis yet.
