Logitech G unveiled a new shifter

Logitech G has introduced the RS H-Shifter, a new gear shifter aimed at racing simulation fans who want a more realistic manual driving experience. The company says the device was designed with durability in mind, using steel, aluminum and high-strength plastic in its construction. Reports Mobile-review.com.

One of the main technical features of the RS H-Shifter is the use of Hall effect sensors instead of traditional potentiometers. This approach improves accuracy and helps reduce wear over time, which could extend the lifespan of the controller for regular users.

The shifter supports a 7+1 gear layout, making it suitable for a wide range of racing styles and driving disciplines. Logitech G also added a gear lockout system that is meant to imitate the behavior of a real transmission and reduce the chance of accidental shifts during intense sessions. The tactile feedback has been tuned to feel closer to operating an actual car.

The RS H-Shifter offers flexible mounting options, allowing it to be installed on dedicated racing cockpits as well as standard desks. For PC users, the device can be connected directly through USB or integrated into the company’s existing steering wheel ecosystem. The new shifter is priced at $160.
