Traffic violations can now be detected by the camera

From April 1, 2026, a new mechanism for detecting traffic violations will be introduced in Uzbekistan. Now violations detected through automated photo and video recording systems installed on roads will also be taken into account in the driver's penalty points system. This measure is aimed at increasing the responsibility of drivers and strengthening road safety.
According to the amendments made to the legislation, violations of traffic rules will affect penalty points if they are recorded not only by traffic police officers, but also by cameras. Also, a new mechanism for distributing penalty points will be introduced.
In accordance with it, if the vehicle is driven by another person, not its official owner, on the basis of a power of attorney, insurance policy, or waybill, the penalty points are assigned to the driver who committed the violation. This will serve to strengthen discipline on the roads, ensure fair accountability, and significantly reduce traffic violations.
Such innovations in road traffic will play an important role in ensuring traffic safety, further strengthening attention and responsibility for drivers.
