Zohida Umarova openly spoke about keeping distance with her relative

One of Uzbekistan’s well-known singers Zohida Umarova shared her views on family relationships, child upbringing, and in-law relations. She openly explained why she keeps a distance in her relationship with Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
Child upbringing — the greatest responsibility
According to the singer, she is прежде всего satisfied with the upbringing of her children. In her opinion, upbringing is what either elevates a person or brings them down. Therefore, she always tries to control herself in front of her children.
Zohida Umarova said that her children’s attention and gifts always make her happy. However, she admitted that she feels a bit uncomfortable when receiving gifts. According to her, her children respect her and forget about her “star status” in front of her.

Clear answer about a duet
The singer was asked whether she could perform a duet with her relative Ozodbek Nazarbekov. She gave a firm “no”.
She emphasized that in-law relations prevent such cooperation. Even if she receives an offer, she would refuse.
“We don’t talk even once a year”
Zohida Umarova also responded to criticism. She said that there is no regular communication between her and Ozodbek Nazarbekov. Even on holidays, she does not call him, only sends messages.
She explains it simply — there must be a boundary between a leader and a relative.
Distance is a sign of respect
According to the singer, she intentionally keeps a distance. The reason is that Ozodbek Nazarbekov is not only her relative but also a state-level official.
She believes that in such situations, a woman should maintain the boundaries herself. This is not only a personal matter but also a sign of respect and culture.
A singer who chose simplicity
Zohida Umarova also said she does not support excessive luxury in family ceremonies. She is not interested in traditions like “togora” and believes her dreams are not limited to such things.
For her, the most important thing is sincerity and simplicity. In her opinion, true happiness is found not in noisy celebrations but in calm and healthy relationships.
