Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviews project for new Babur statues

Systematic efforts continue in our country to restore our rich history and immortalize the memory of our great ancestors who cradled world civilization. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed new major projects planned for implementation across various regions and sectors of our country.

Among the presentations, one of the most central and notable was the project for a majestic statue dedicated to the great statesman, skilled commander, and poet Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, which will be part of a grand architectural complex in the city of Andijan region named after Babur.

Historical accuracy and cooperation with foreign scholars

The main goal of erecting this monument is to deeply instill in the hearts of future generations the statecraft thinking, rich scientific-literary heritage, and unparalleled contribution to human development of our unique ancestor. Therefore, special attention is being paid to deep meaning and high artistic resolution in creating this monument.

The head of state was provided with detailed information about the initial sketches, compositional appearance, and the scientific approaches aimed at accurately reflecting the image of Babur Mirza. It was noted that this historical image is not merely imaginative, but is being created based on many years of research conducted by Uzbek scholars together with foreign colleagues, as well as deep study of ancient miniatures, rare manuscripts, and masterpieces of cultural heritage.

Babur's image to be erected in the capital of Pakistan as well

Another piece of joyful news is that during the President's state visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, one of the beautiful places in Islamabad was named after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. At this presentation, the project for a new statue of our great ancestor to be installed in this foreign park was also thoroughly reviewed.

Our head of state gave important instructions regarding the process of creating these two monuments:

“It is necessary to deeply reveal the image of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur not only as a lyric poet or writer, but first and foremost as a great commander, founder of a powerful empire, and a wise, just ruler. His indomitable will, high potential in state governance, and high spirituality must be clearly visible in the overall appearance of the statue,” emphasized Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Beruni school and major reforms in Bukhara

In addition, the head of state was informed about a number of other important projects aimed at developing science and infrastructure. In particular:

  • Focus on science: Radically improving the material and technical base of the Abu Rayhan Beruni International Boarding School;

  • Tourism and logistics: Increasing tourism potential and modernizing the transport system in the ancient city of Bukhara;

  • Cultural centers: Modernizing cultural centers and houses in various districts of the republic based on the requirements of the new era.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev set firm tasks and instructions for officials to further improve all presented creative projects, develop them thoroughly based on advanced international experience, and implement them with high quality.

In your opinion, to what extent will the installation of magnificent statues of Babur Mirza in the city of Babur and in Pakistan increase the interest of young people in our history?
