On May 10–12, a delegation of Uzbek business circles led by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhabov paid a working visit to Afghanistan. During the visit, the sides discussed strengthening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and implementing new projects.
Delegation members met with Afghanistan's Deputy Minister of Health and Food Hamidullah Zahid. During the meeting, they discussed in detail increasing the volume of Uzbek-produced pharmaceuticals and food supplies to Afghanistan, practical application of joint projects, and developing cooperation at an institutional level.
The Afghan side noted that previously food and medicines had been imported into the country without proper control from various countries, but since March 2024, these products have been imported under a special certification system. This procedure ensures product quality and helps clear the market.

Hamidullah Zahid emphasized the high demand for Uzbek products and expressed the Afghan government's readiness to create all necessary conditions in this area. According to him, Uzbek products are suitable for the Afghan market in terms of both price and quality.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reached several concrete agreements. In particular, agreements were made on importing livestock and food products from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan, signing a memorandum for formalizing this process, and organizing an official visit of the Afghan Ministry of Health and Food delegation to Uzbekistan.
