Tourist Flow to Morocco Increases, New Record Set
Morocco, which has been implementing serious reforms and extensive promotional efforts in the tourism sector in recent years, announced that it welcomed 7.2 million tourists by May 2025. This figure is 22% higher compared to the same period last year and represents a new national record in tourism. This was reported by the AZƏRTAC agency.

Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy emphasized that this result further strengthens the country’s position in the global tourism market. According to the ministry, this growth is the outcome of strategic and investment reforms implemented in recent years.

Minister Fatima Zahra Ammor stated that the expansion in the tourism sector reflects Morocco’s growing attractiveness as a tourist destination. This development is directly linked to the implementation of the national Tourism Roadmap for 2023–2026. The program outlines priority actions such as improving air transport, intensifying advertising campaigns in various countries, diversifying tourism services, and encouraging investment in tourism infrastructure.

According to Ammor, this positive result gives confidence in the successful realization of the Moroccan government’s ambitious plan to welcome 26 million tourists by 2030.

Morocco is becoming increasingly attractive to tourists not only due to its rich historical heritage and ancient cities, but also thanks to its modern hotel infrastructure, cultural events, natural beauty, and traditions of hospitality.

As a result of ongoing efforts to expand tourism potential, Morocco stands on the brink of becoming one of the leading tourism hubs in the African continent.
