Uzbekistan may reach a $160 billion GDP by 2026

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that, thanks to the country’s current potential, ongoing reforms, entrepreneurs’ activity, and expanding international cooperation, Uzbekistan may increase its gross domestic product to $160 billion by 2026. Podrobno.uz reports. “As you can see, if existing resources and opportunities are used effectively, our country can achieve great results,” the head of state said. The president noted that in today’s global economy, skilled professionals and advanced technologies are crucial to ensuring competitiveness. He also emphasized that developing high value-added sectors, increasing the number of high-income services, actively applying bioengineering, advanced agrotechnical and water-saving methods, introducing “green” energy and zero-waste production, as well as integrating best foreign practices into education and healthcare, will create a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth. “If we train personnel for modern professions based on science and innovation, then within the next five years there are all opportunities to bring the size of the economy to $240 billion,” the president added.
