
In Uzbekistan, private medical institutions may soon be granted the right to perform organ transplant surgeries. This was announced during an open dialogue organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to Nurillo Mamasadikov, Rector of Central Asian Medical University, if private clinics meet the standards and requirements of the Ministry of Health, they should be permitted to carry out transplant procedures. He expressed support for this initiative.
The head of the Kashkadarya regional health department stated that a draft presidential decree on this matter is currently being developed. According to him, the document may be approved within the next 2–3 weeks.
A representative of the Ministry of Health, Jaloliddin Asamutdinov, added that in the first stage, permission will be given for eye organ transplantation.
