The fungus Trichophyton indotineae, considered highly resistant and dangerous in Europe, is spreading rapidly. Experts call it not just a fungus, but a "super fungus." This was reported by The Sun.
According to David Denning, an infectious disease expert at the University of Manchester, this type of fungus causes rashes with redness and intense itching on the body. The first signs are mainly observed in the thigh and buttocks.
According to the publication, cases of Trichophyton indotineae have increased by almost 500% in the UK over the past three years. Infection can be transmitted from person to person through direct contact, contaminated objects and surfaces, as well as through sexual contact.
According to Danny, if the spread of the fungus continues at this rate, it could become a serious global problem in the coming years.
