A former Road Patrol Inspector was brutally stabbed to death in Shakhrisabz

A heartbreaking crime was committed in the city of Shakhrisabz, Kashkadarya region. On June 1, former Road Patrol Inspector Uktam Khojakulov, who had great respect among the local population, was stabbed to death. The “Avtoblog.uz” channel on Telegram was the first to report this terrible incident.

It is noted that the deceased Uktam Khojakulov served as a senior inspector in the Road Patrol Service of Shakhrisabz for a long time and retired in 2014. The tragic death of a former employee who was well-known and respected among the people of Shakhrisabz deeply worried the residents of the city.

The murder is said to have occurred in the “Sinabog” neighborhood of Shakhrisabz. According to local residents and bloggers, the person who resisted the former Road Patrol Inspector was a person known in the neighborhood by the nickname “Ivan”. The exact cause of the conflict and the circumstances leading to the murder have not yet been revealed.

One of the residents of this neighborhood, Elshod Yahya, commented on the incident on Facebook, writing the following thoughts: "Once upon a time, this neighborhood was one of the most dangerous areas in Shakhrisabz. Because hooligans and criminals ruled here, strangers were afraid to even set foot in this neighborhood. Unfortunately, the bloodshed has not stopped here and it seems as if the old-fashioned law is still in effect," he said.

According to Hayot Shamsutdinov, head of the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the deceased Uktam Khojakulov was 48 years old. On the day of the murder, the victim was taken to the Shakhrisabz city emergency department with serious injuries to the neck, but unfortunately, his life could not be saved.

Currently, the Shakhrisabz district prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 97 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan ("Intentional murder"). A 37-year-old man suspected of murder was detained under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code, and an investigation is currently underway against him.

Following this incident, law enforcement agencies have increased security measures in the city and are conducting an investigation to clarify the crime. This terrible incident once again calls on the population to be vigilant.
