Drugs found in phone case in Namangan

An unusual incident was discovered in Namangan — a man was detained for hiding a narcotic substance inside a phone case. This was reported by the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, on October 1, during an operational raid in Mingbulok district, a resident of the “Mulkobod” mahalla came under the attention of law enforcement officers. During an inspection conducted in the presence of witnesses, a prohibited substance — about 2 grams of hashish — was found inside his phone case.

Law enforcement officials said the man claimed he had kept the drug for personal use, but this does not exempt him from criminal liability.

A criminal case was opened by the investigation department under the Mingbulok district Department of Internal Affairs under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This article provides for liability for the illegal preparation, possession, or storage of narcotic substances.

Currently, investigative procedures are underway. Experts emphasize that possessing even a small amount of narcotic substances can lead to serious legal consequences.

The rapid response services urged citizens to comply with the law and avoid any situations involving suspicious substances.

Thus, the “hashish secret” hidden in a phone case in Namangan did not remain concealed for long — the suspect was exposed, and the case is now under investigation.
