Officials who forced the cotton harvest were punished

In the Surkhandarya region, civil servants were held accountable for forcibly involving employees in the cotton harvest.

It became known that the deputy khokim of Kumkurgan district, N. Jumaeva, instructed family and women's activists to send pickers to pick cotton. As a result of the investigation, this fact was confirmed, and a fine was imposed on him on the basis of part 1 of Article 51 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Ministry of Employment reported.

The head of the Abu Ali ibn Sino Information and Library Center in Bukhara, N. Aminova, was also fined for the same offense.

According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, during the cotton harvest season, the State Labor Inspectorate conducts constant monitoring to prevent child and forced labor, as well as to ensure compliance with labor legislation.

To date, a total of 74 violations of labor legislation have been identified. Fines were imposed on individuals who violated labor laws under Article 49 of the Administrative Code.

In addition, 8 officials were punished in accordance with part 1 of Article 51 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. At the same time, practical assistance was provided in concluding seasonal labor contracts with more than 1,400 harvesters.

Employment agencies emphasize that the fight against forced labor during the cotton season will be resolutely continued.
