In the Yangiyul district, a young man born in 2005 was found to be engaged in deceiving citizens through online advertisements and receiving money. He posted false information on advertising platforms and abused people's trust through several fake Telegram accounts.
According to the results of the pre-investigation check, at least 8 cases of fraud were confirmed. The young man pretended to be a different person and convinced the buyers with the promise that he would sell an iPhone at a low price. In this way, he received advance payments from citizens and then disappeared.
It turned out that the suspect had created about 10 accounts on Telegram with nicknames similar to women's names and communicated with people. To gain their trust, he gave various false information, made it a habit to deceive through fake photos and fake announcements.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this person is suspected of being involved in 8 similar crimes committed in the Nurafshan, Akhangaran, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik, Buka, Kibray, and Tashkent districts. In each case, he used the same tactic, obtaining people's money under the pretext of "selling cheap equipment."
Currently, a case has been initiated against him under Article 168, Part 3, Clauses "b" and "g" of the Criminal Code. These articles relate to aggravating circumstances of fraud, and if the guilt is proven, he can be imprisoned for a long term.
Investigative actions are underway.
The Main Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Tashkent called on all citizens to be vigilant:
- Do not trust suspicious sales made via the Internet, make sure the seller is authentic before making an advance payment. "Currently, many scammers are exploiting people's trust through social networks and messengers," the statement says.
It is noted that in such cases, promptly contacting law enforcement agencies will prevent any losses. Prudence in the online world is considered the most effective way to protect property.
