According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a preventive inspector was caught accepting a bribe in the Khorezm region. Information about the corruption crime committed by the inspector was received at the unified Call Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Based on this information, a decision was made to conduct a special operational activity. As a result of the operation, the preventive inspector was apprehended in the city of Khiva while taking $1,000.
It was revealed that in exchange for this amount, he intended to assist in conspiring with an expert to issue a positive conclusion regarding falsified signatures in documents related to a criminal case. A criminal case has been initiated under the articles "Fraud" and "Facilitating Bribery" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The offender faces a sentence of up to 8 years in prison. Currently, a pre-trial detention measure has been applied against him.
