On November 2, 2025, in Sherali village of G‘uzor district, Qashqadaryo region, a very terrible incident occurred. A 38-year-old man, according to reports, killed his brother’s 30-year-old wife with a kitchen knife. This was reported to “Daryo” by the deceased’s relatives.
According to investigative documents, N.O., born in 1987, took advantage of his brother going to the livestock market in Qarshi city and stabbed his wife Dilnoza Shaymardonova, who was alone at home, causing severe harm.
The suspect stated in his testimony: “I waited for my brother to go to the market, then I went into the kitchen, took a knife, and went out into the yard. Seeing our wife taking dishes in front of the bathroom, I followed her and with both hands strangled her, knocking her to the ground. Then I stabbed her from behind into the left shoulder and neck. The knife got stuck in her neck.”
The deceased had moved into this household on August 31, 2025. Her relatives claim that other persons may have been involved in this murder and expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation.
On this case, a criminal case was initiated against the suspect under Article 97 of the Criminal Code (intentional murder), and he was arrested.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Ashropov reported that in 2025, murders in Uzbekistan decreased, but crimes against honor increased. In 2024, 339 murders were recorded, while in 2025 this figure decreased to 288. However, crimes against honor increased from 359 to 381.
