A staff member of the Internal Affairs Department of Almazar district in Tashkent city, Abror Khudoyberdiev, has been dismissed from his position for instructing preventive inspectors to identify homeless persons on the streets and draw up administrative reports against them.
This was announced on April 11 by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Ashropov during a press conference held by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to him, as a result of an official internal investigation, the said official was removed from his position.
Recently, an audio recording circulated on social media in which he set a target for preventive inspectors — “300 administrative reports” — and also instructed all employees to go out onto the streets. This sparked widespread public discussion.
It was also noted in the audio that in some cases, it was suggested to register relatives or other individuals of people who could not be found as “homeless persons.” This caused strong public outrage.
At present, the internal investigation regarding this case has been completed and appropriate measures have been taken.
