The hokim of Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, handed over the keys to an apartment in Fergana city to Alisher Ganiyev, the first-ever world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in Uzbekistan’s history, the regional administration’s press service reported.
In October 2024, Alisher Ganiyev participated in the U23 World Championship in Tirana, Albania, in the -60 kg weight category and won a gold medal. Thus, he became the first world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling among Uzbek junior athletes.
The champion was awarded an apartment in Ecocity — the “New Uzbekistan” residential complex. The regional hokim congratulated the athlete on his achievements and expressed confidence that he would secure an Olympic qualification in the future. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
