Uzbek weightlifters return from the World Championships with 17 medals
The prestigious Youth and Junior World Weightlifting Championships have concluded in Lima, the capital of Peru. Athletes from the Uzbekistan national team achieved strong results, collecting a significant number of medals.

On the final day of the competition, Qudratbek Salimjonov competed in the -109 kg junior category and won a bronze medal in the snatch discipline, according to the National Olympic Committee’s press service.

His medal became Uzbekistan’s 17th medal at the tournament. In total, Uzbek athletes earned 3 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze medals.

One of the brightest participants was Mohinur Esonboeva, who added 2 golds and 1 bronze to the team’s medal tally. Alisher Usmonov also made a notable contribution, claiming 1 gold and 2 silvers.

Marjona Abdumutalova performed at a high level, winning 2 silver and 1 bronze medals, while Munisbek Davletov took home 2 silver medals, showing his strong skills and potential.

Diyorbek Ruzmetov secured 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Additionally, Hikmatillo Haydarov, Dilnura Holdorova, and the aforementioned Qudratbek Salimjonov also earned bronze medals.

Overall, Uzbekistan’s participation was at a very high level, proving the talent of the younger generation.

The athletes now continue preparing for future competitions, aiming to win even more medals and bring glory to Uzbekistan at senior-level international events.
