Football fans have been eagerly awaiting the start of the Club World Cup, which kicked off on June 14 in the USA. The participation of the Uzbek referee team in this prestigious tournament has become an important event for our country's football.
In the second round of the tournament, in the match between “Inter Miami” and “Porto”, Uzbek FIFA referee Ilgiz Tantashev has been appointed as the fourth official. This was reported through the official FIFA portal.
The match will be officiated by a Chilean referee trio — Cristian Garay, Miguel Rocha, and Jose Retamal. Ilgiz Tantashev will assist them as a reserve referee.
Considering that every game of Lionel Messi’s team “Inter Miami” is watched with great interest, officiating in such a match is both an honor and a responsible task for Tantashev.
Previously, Tantashev and his assistants have proven themselves well in various international tournaments and have been recognized as fair and professional referees. His current appointment is also a sign of the trust in Uzbek refereeing.
