Barcelona plans to hold a ceremony for Messi at the new stadium

Barcelona is carrying out a large-scale renovation of its iconic Camp Nou stadium, reported Euro-football.ru.
Under the guidance of head coach Hans-Dieter Flick, the team is expected to start playing at the revamped arena soon, even though construction is still ongoing. The full reopening of the new Camp Nou is scheduled before the 2026/2027 season begins, once the roof installation is completed.

As part of the grand reopening, Barcelona plans to hold a tribute ceremony for Lionel Messi. According to Mundo Deportivo, the club intends to invite Messi to the stadium opening in the summer of 2026.

It's worth noting that in 2021, due to financial difficulties, Barcelona was unable to offer Messi a new contract. The stadium reconstruction is seen as a key step toward the club’s future success.
