Today, in Ulan-Bator, Mongolia, one of the biggest global judo competitions, the "Grand Slam," started. With the beginning of the competition, proud results were achieved for the Uzbekistan national team. On the first day, our compatriot Abdurakhim Nutfulloev won a gold medal.
Competing in the -66 kg weight category, Nutfulloev defeated all his rivals and became the champion of the tournament. In the final, he defeated Denis Vieru, the bronze medalist of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. Nutfulloev’s victory in this match is of great significance, as Vieru is an Olympic medalist, and the fight with him is certainly remarkable.
This judo tournament attracts many strong athletes every year, and this year, the Uzbekistan national team took its rightful place by winning the gold medal. Abdurakhim Nutfulloev’s victory is the expected result for Uzbekistan’s judo fans and will serve as inspiration for preparing for future competitions.
