Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé defended his former teammate Achraf Hakimi during questioning in a violence case. This was reported by the French publication L'Équipe.
According to him, such situations can occur in the life of a footballer and must be approached with caution.
“We talk about this topic a lot. It is important to be cautious in such situations. We are by no means savages. From the beginning of our careers, we have been aware that such situations might arise,” said Mbappé.
He also gave a positive assessment of Hakimi’s personal conduct:
“Achraf is someone who treats women with respect. I have never seen him drunk or engaging in any suspicious behavior. Likewise, I have never heard from his close friends that he behaved inappropriately or crossed any boundaries”.
It should be reminded that Achraf Hakimi is suspected of violence that allegedly took place in 2023. If the Moroccan footballer is found guilty, he could face up to 15 years in prison.
Investigations are still ongoing, and the footballer’s fate will be decided by the court.
