Istanbul's renowned club Beşiktaş announced the appointment of a new head coach on their official website. The team is now headed by Sergei Yalçın, who has a great reputation in Turkish football.
According to reports, the 52-year-old has signed a contract with Beşiktaş for this season and next year. This news was met with interest by many fans, as Sergen holds a special place in the club's history.
As a reminder, Beşiktaş had previously performed poorly in European competitions. Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was dismissed after a 1-1 defeat against Swiss club Lausanne in the Conference League qualifiers.
Sergei Yalchin previously headed the club. In particular, in the 2020/2021 season, he led Beşiktaş to the Turkish championship and the national cup. This result inscribed his name on the pages of the history of the "orsu."
Before the new appointment, the experienced coach worked at "Antalyaspor." Now, once again, the Istanbul club's management has placed great trust in him and set high goals for him.
