Futsal competitions have begun at the III Asian Youth Games in Bahrain. The Uzbekistan youth national team, consisting mainly of a new generation, recorded an unsuccessful result in their first match.
Dilshod Rahmatov's team faced Afghanistan's youth team in the first round and suffered a heavy defeat with a score of 2:10. Although this result is disappointing for the team, the coach believes that valuable lessons can be learned from the game.
According to the schedule, the Uzbekistan youth team will also face Bahrain and China in the same group. The next match will be against representatives of China on October 25. This match will be an important test for our team on the path to restoring opportunities and regaining confidence.
The futsal squad of the Asian Youth Games is very strong. The Afghan team is one of the teams that has gained experience in last year's competitions and is physically leading. Therefore, despite the defeat, this match serves as a great experience for young futsal players.
After the competition, Dilshod Rakhmatov expressed the following thoughts:
"The guys were nervous - that's natural. They participated in such a prestigious competition for the first time. This tournament is a big test for them. We need to forget about the result and seriously prepare for the next debates. We knew exactly what aspects needed to be worked on in the game. "Our guys fought respectfully," he said.
In the tournament in Bahrain, the futsal tournament is always intense - most teams play in a style that is technically strong and based on quick movement. Therefore, these competitions serve as an important opportunity for Uzbekistan's youth to gain international experience.
So far, the team is not on the winning list based on the result, but the coaches are optimistic about the preparation process and mental state. The next match against China will be an opportunity for our team to prove themselves.
Note:
16 countries of the continent are participating in the futsal competitions of the III Asian Youth Games. The tournament is taking place in Isa Town, Bahrain.
