Amir Galinoy: My team showed growth in the game against Uzbekistan

The Iranian national team, which played against Uzbekistan in the final of the Al Ain Cup, held a press conference after the competition with the participation of head coach Amir Galinoi. The coach gave an analysis of the match and outlined important points regarding the team's development.

Galinoi noted that the team was unable to fully engage in the game in the first half of the match. However, over time, the initiative fell entirely into the hands of Iranian players, who dominated the match for most of the time.

"We started the game with Uzbekistan quite slowly, but after the 25th minute, the game came under full control. Taking into account the match against Tanzania, we have been reliably keeping our goal in the last three matches. In today's match, we scored a lot of corner, created a number of specific situations. This is evidence of our growth," said the coach.

According to him, Iran gained full advantage in the second half, while Uzbekistan failed to create dangerous situations.

"Uzbekistan played very actively against Egypt, but not against us. The opponent didn't pose any threat in the second half. Ball control was 60/40, which shows that both the attack and defense worked perfectly," Galinoi continued.

The coach especially noted that defensive stability increased significantly after Majid Hossey came on. At the same time, he emphasized that if leaders such as Sardor Azmoun, Mehdi Gayedi, Ali Qalizada, and Alireza Jahanbakhsh return to the ranks, Iran's level will rise even further.

"If our players returning from injuries join the ranks, our team will advance to another stage. Today we could have won for 90 minutes - we just missed chances. "It is not the result that matters to us, but development," he said.

Galinoi emphasized that the opponent showed weakness in attack even when the numbers were equal, and reminded that under pressure, the Uzbekistan defender was sent off.

"This is a sign of our growth in attack. Today we dribbled faster and played more intensely than in Cape Verde. I am very pleased with the match against Uzbekistan. We showed strong points in both defense and attack," said the Iranian head coach.

In his opinion, winning or losing a penalty doesn't matter in such friendly competitions. The main thing is how the team is developing.

Although the Iranian national team did not win, the coach expressed satisfaction with the team's performance and stated that they would play with a stronger squad in future matches.
