How Long Did It Take Mbappe to Score His 400th Goal

Kylian Mbappe made history in November 2025 by scoring the 400th goal of his career. But did he reach this milestone faster than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo?

Mbappe netted his 400th goal during France's victory over Ukraine, scoring his second goal of the evening in the match. In doing so, the "Real" striker became the youngest footballer to reach the 400-goal mark, breaking Gerd Müller's record by 113 days.

Mbappe is the only footballer to achieve this feat at a young age, apart from Pele. Messi and Ronaldo trail behind him in this regard.

Mbappe scored 26 goals with Monaco, 256 with PSG, 62 with Real Madrid, and 55 with the French national team. Now, he is only two goals away from breaking the national team's record currently held by Olivier Giroud.

After the game, Mbappe was asked about this accomplishment, but he emphasized his focus on new goals. "400 goals in my career?

It does not surprise people. I need another 400 goals, the road ahead is long.

This is merely a symbolic figure, but I aim to achieve the impossible," Mbappe said during an interview with a French television channel. Statistics show that Messi reached this milestone in slightly fewer matches than Mbappe, but his goal-scoring rate was lower on average.

As for Ronaldo, he showcased his skills in later stages of his career, scoring more goals from penalties. Mbappe does not hide his admiration for Ronaldo but expressed his desire to pave his own path at Real Madrid.

"Cristiano has always been an example for me. I had the chance to talk to him; he gave me advice.

I still consider him the number one player in Madrid. But I want to choose my own path," Mbappe stated.

According to statistical analysis, Mbappe scored his 400th goal in 537 matches at the age of 26 years and 10 months, converting 58 penalties in the process. Messi achieved this feat in 525 matches at the age of 27 years and 3 months with 51 penalties, while Ronaldo required 653 matches at the age of 28 years and 11 months, scoring 60 penalties along the way.
