The central match of the Turkish league's 14th round took place on the first evening of winter. It featured a contest between "Fenerbahçe" and "Galatasaray."
The scoring was opened in the 27th minute by Leroy Sané. Demonstrating exceptional technical skill with the ball, he made several feints and struck from near the penalty area, with the ball deflecting off a defender and into the corner of the net.
At the end of the first half, a goal was scored into the "Galatasaray" net; however, Edson’s goal was disallowed due to handball. In the second half, "Fenerbahçe" took the initiative and created numerous opportunities to change the game.
These efforts bore fruit, but only at the very end of added time in the second half. John Duran accurately headed the ball into the right corner of the net from a cross delivered from the left wing.
As a result, the game ended in a 1–1 draw. The Istanbul derby concluded without a victor.
Currently, "Galatasaray" remains in first place with 33 points, while "Fenerbahçe" holds second place with 32 points.
