Egypt national team star Mohamed Salah has been included in the preliminary squad in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament is scheduled to start on December 21 and will run until January 18.
However, the Liverpool forward might leave his club much earlier before the competition, as FIFA regulations require players to join their national teams approximately two weeks prior to the start of the tournament. The Egyptian national team plans to hold a training camp ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
On December 14, they will play a friendly match against Nigeria, after which the team will travel to Morocco on December 17 to finalize their preparations. Meanwhile, according to the Liverpool Echo, the Liverpool club is keen to keep the 33-year-old winger at least until their match against Brighton on December 13.
It is confirmed that Mohamed Salah will miss at least three Premier League matches. If the Egyptian national team progresses far in the tournament, he might miss a total of eight games.
