Farke: We Never Play with Fear

Leeds head coach Daniel Farke shared his thoughts ahead of their next Championship fixture against Chelsea. This match, part of the 14th round, is scheduled to take place on December 3, starting at 1:15 AM Tashkent time.

Farke emphasized that playing with a five-defender system is not a permanent tactic. "I have never been tied to a single system.

I have my own principles, but some adjustment is necessary against different opponents. We never play out of fear.

We approach the game with confidence. Our goal is not just to play well but to collect as many points as possible," Farke stated in an interview with the BBC.

Leeds midfielder Daniel James suffered a knee tendon injury and will be sidelined for at least eight weeks. However, according to the coach, the situation has not worsened as no surgical intervention is required.

"This is, of course, disappointing news. He worked very hard to return to his best shape.

I’ve never seen him so disciplined in training and nutrition. He’s very disheartened by this injury," said Farke.

The injury reportedly could influence Leeds' transfer plans in the upcoming window; however, the coach added that he is not rushing to make long-term predictions. Another player, Anton Stakh, has returned to training and is ready to play.

Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin may also participate in the game. Farke noted that Calvert-Lewin could have started against Manchester City but chose to exercise extreme caution.

Currently, Leeds sit in 18th place with 11 points, while Chelsea occupies third place with 24 points.
