Ancelotti Comments on Neymar's Future in 2026 World Cup

Brazil national team's head coach Carlo Ancelotti responded to questions regarding Neymar's future with the national squad. On Friday, the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage took place.

Five-time champions Brazil were drawn into a group alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti. Following the draw, Ancelotti was asked about Neymar.

"I understand your questions about Neymar. Let me clarify the situation.

We are in December right now, and the World Cup begins in June. I will announce the squad for the tournament in May.

If Neymar is fit and can show he is performing better than others or at least equally as well, he will go to the World Cup. Period," said Ancelotti.

These statements were reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano. Additionally, the 33-year-old Santos player Neymar recently recorded a hat-trick in a Brazilian Serie A match against Juventude.
