Following the World Cup group stage draw, Algeria's national team head coach Vladimir Petkovich shared his thoughts. Algeria has been drawn into the same group as Argentina, Austria, and Jordan.
"It is a very interesting group. The three teams ranked third will compete for the second spot.
Argentina is undoubtedly the main favorite of the group. As for us, we will give our all to secure the second place along with Austria and Jordan.
In my opinion, we have good chances," Petkovich told FIFA's official website. "We are excited to face Argentina in the first match because it can serve as preparation for the next two extremely important games." Algeria's national team is currently ranked 35th in FIFA's official rankings.
