Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca shared his thoughts on his team's condition during the Champions League group stage. Last Tuesday, the "Blues" suffered a 1–2 defeat away against Atalanta, dropping out of the top eight.
The London club is currently in 11th place with 10 points. This ranking reflects the team's performance after six group stage matches.
"It is evident that we must secure victories in the remaining two games. Achieving 16 points could take us into the top eight, but I am not entirely confident about it.
To secure a direct ticket to the Round of 16, we need to collect six more points," Maresca stated. These remarks were quoted by journalist Bobby Vincent.
It should be noted that the top eight teams in the Champions League group stage earn direct qualification to the Round of 16. The next 16 teams will compete against each other in the first phase of the playoffs.
