Former Brazilian national team footballer Rivaldo has shared his thoughts on Brazil being drawn into the same group as Scotland in the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. "Scotland is an opponent I am quite familiar with.
I played against them during the 1998 World Cup. The match may be a bit challenging for Brazil at the beginning, but Scotland does not have the same football traditions as Brazil.
Of course, we must approach all opponents with respect, but Brazil is Brazil. We must showcase our style of play and secure victory.
As a Brazilian, I am confident that we will navigate the group stage with ease, although we will maintain respect for our opponents," Rivaldo said in an interview with One Football. It should be noted that Rivaldo was a member of the Brazilian national team that won the FIFA World Cup in 2002.
