Real Madrid defender receives two suspensions in one day

On Wednesday, it was reported that "Real" defender Alvaro Carreras received a two-match suspension in La Liga. Carreras was sent off at the end of the game against "Celta" due to remarks made towards the referee.

In addition to the La Liga suspension, Alvaro Carreras is also suspended in the Champions League. The defender received a yellow card in the match against "Manchester City," and due to reaching the yellow card limit, he will miss the next game.

Carreras will not be able to participate in the Champions League group stage match against "Monaco" on January 20 but may return to face his former team, "Benfica," on January 28. "Real" suffered a 1-2 defeat at home against "Manchester City."
