Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney is unlikely to return to the English Premier League during the winter transfer window. This was reported by talkSPORT.
According to the source, Toney's return to England is hindered by financial reasons. Last year, the footballer signed a special four-year contract stipulating a weekly salary of 456,000 euros.
This contract is tax-exempt in Saudi Arabia. However, if Toney returns to England before April 2026, he will be required to pay taxes on half of his earnings from Saudi Arabia, amounting to 16 million euros.
It should be noted that earlier reports indicated that Tottenham, Everton, and Manchester United had expressed interest in signing the 29-year-old footballer. In the current season, Ivan Toney has played in 18 matches across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 2 assists.
