In January 2026, the U-23 Asian Cup will commence in Saudi Arabia. Ahead of this tournament, featuring the continent's strongest youth teams, the Uzbekistan U-23 national team is intensively preparing. Currently, Ravshan Haydarov's squad is conducting training sessions at the National Football Center to ensure thorough readiness for the crucial matches.
The Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) official page has also revisited the Uzbekistan youth team's past participations and achievements in previous Asian Cups. It is noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan has been recognized as one of the most consistent teams on the continent.
Specifically, the Uzbekistan U-23 national team:
— Won the championship at the 2018 Asian Cup;
— Finished as runners-up in the 2022 tournament;
— Reached the final again in 2024 and secured second place.
These results clearly demonstrate the success of the system built in youth football, the efforts of the coaching staff, and the hard work of the players. The team now aims to carry forward this tradition and once again showcase its potential on the Asian stage.
