Valencia and Mallorca Share Points in La Liga Draw

In the 17th round of La Liga, Valencia hosted Mallorca at their home ground, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Early in the game, Mallorca created a dangerous moment: Jan Virgil cut in from the left flank to the center and struck a precise shot towards the far corner from the edge of the penalty area. However, Valencia's goalkeeper managed to deflect the ball, conceding a corner kick.

In the 23rd minute, the visitors opened the scoring: following a set-piece, the ball was directed into the penalty area from the left, Antonio Raíllo flicked it with a header, and Samu Costa struck a precise one-touch shot from 15 meters into the bottom-left corner, putting his team ahead — 0-1. Shortly after, Lucas Beltrán unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area, which hit a defender's hand, but the referee did not award a penalty.

At the beginning of the second half, Valencia equalized. Thierry Correia skillfully outplayed his opponent on the right flank, delivering a mid-height cross into the box.

Hugo Duro, as he was falling, managed to guide the ball into the net with a header, leveling the score at 1-1. Later on, Rioja sent a cross from the right flank to the far post, where José Gayà headed the ball, but it hit the post.

In another attacking attempt by the hosts, André Almeida provided an accurate pass to find Beltrán, who was almost face-to-face with the goalkeeper. However, the goalkeeper reacted swiftly, blocking the attempt with his feet. Following the draw, Valencia remains just one point above the relegation zone in the league standings.

Mallorca, meanwhile, stands three points clear of the danger zone.
