Barcelona planning to sign a central defender in January

Barcelona plans to acquire a central defender during the winter transfer window. According to Mundo Deportivo, the club's management intends to strengthen the center of defense with a more affordable player.

Priority is being given to experienced players with leadership qualities—individuals capable of compensating for the loss of Inigo Martinez, who left the team in the summer. Among the potential candidates are 37-year-old Nicolas Otamendi from Benfica, 33-year-old Stefan de Vrij from Inter Milan, and 28-year-old Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth.

According to Transfermarkt, Otamendi's estimated value is €1 million. De Vrij and Senesi are valued at €3.5 million and €22 million, respectively, on the platform.
