Real Madrid seek a creative midfielder after Modric’s departure

Real Madrid openly recognize the need to strengthen the midfield after Luka Modric left the team. This is reported by euro-football.rureports.

According to journalist Jorge Picon, the “Royal Club” had already tried last season to find a creative midfielder capable of replacing the Croatian, but none of the options considered fully satisfied the board.

Expensive players did not fit the club’s budget, while relatively cheaper young candidates did not meet the required level. Arda Guler and Jude Bellingham were also tested in this role: Guler is not yet ready to fully handle such responsibility, and Bellingham looks more like a player who finishes attacks.

Real’s main target remains PSG midfielder Vitinha, but for now the transfer is viewed as a very difficult deal to complete.
