Barcelona plan to strengthen their centre-back line in 2026. According to the club’s plan, in January they will focus on relatively cheaper candidates, while in the summer the Catalans are expected to allocate a bigger budget for a new player. This is reported by euro-football.ru.reports.
According to Barca Centre, head coach Hans-Dieter Flick’s top priority for the summer transfer window is Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund. However, sporting director Deco prefers a different route: he considers Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni the better option. Still, bringing in the Italian won’t be easy — Bastoni does not want to leave Inter and his price is also high.
Transfermarkt values Schlotterbeck at €55 million, while Bastoni is valued at €80 million. Both players are currently 26.
